VDL Drying System
The success of our drying tunnel continues. Last year several new projects have been realized and there is a global increasing demand for our drying tunnel. Besides the typical lay-out for poultry manure drying by using the ventilation air as energy source, also other concepts are becoming popular in certain markets.

Herewith an overview of a few of the drying projects implemented in 2015.

The installation of the PoulDry in Ireland.

Pouldry in Northern-Ireland
poultry manure drying by wood pellet burning In this set-up not the ventilation air of the building is used, but wood pellets will be burnt to heat up water. Hot water then passes through a VDL Klima heat exchanger which heats up the incoming outside air. Because outside air is warmed up and herewith has a reduced RH it can dry the poultry manure up to 85% dry matter. Scope of supply for this project included the drying tunnel, all conveyor belts and discharge augers, and the complete ventilation system with fans and heat exchangers. The project was sold by our Northern-Irish PoulDry dealer Armstrong Electrical.

PoulDry in Italy
This project includes a tunnel with capacity to dry manure of 170.000 layer hens. In cooperation with VALLI a very nice project has been established for one of their Italian customers. As the PoulDry is a compact drying system, only 1 drying tunnel is needed , located behind the poultry house in the manure storage building. Ventilation air of the poultry house is used as energy source for the drying.

Dries layer hen manure to be used for further processing On this farm a complete manure processing plant will be built. The PoulDry manure dryer is the first step in the process. After 48 hours dry manure is discharged automatically from our system and will be stored in a storage bunker and then used for gasification. After the full gasification process they have both electricity aswell as biochar as an end product. This project is supplied by our local PoulDry dealer Echberg Manutech.
