GGP
operation Cobb New Zealand
|
|
On
January 31st the new Cobb GGP project in New Zealand was officially
inaugurated. VDL Agrotech dealer for Australia and New Zealand, B &
M Slots Pty. Ltd. installed the VDL Chainovation
suspended chain feeders, Matrix male feeding, feed silos and auger
systems on this beautiful project. The project includes a quarantine
building in which the imported hatching eggs are hatched and where the
GGP chicks are kept for the first two weeks prior to moving them to the
rearing houses. After the rearing period birds are transferred to the
production houses on the same site location.
The hatching eggs produced are then hatched in a second ( large
hatchery ) after which the day old Grand Parents are exported mainly to
Asia. The total capacity of this GGP operation is sufficient to fulfil
9% of the global requirement of poultry meat production within the next
4 years.
