The highlights in this edition: Aviagen Turkey visits VDL Agrotech, VDL Agrotech
hosted a network meeting for the Dutch Poultry Centre members, Open door
day at the Family Schraudolf Breeder Farm and the progress of the Evan
Vet Breeder Farm project in Iraq.

In February, VDL Agrotech
welcomed visitors from Aviagen GP farm Turkey and VDL Agrotech
distributor Poultech. During the visit an intensive product training was
organised. The whole team was introduced to all the equipment for their
new grandparents project. The project consists of 4 GP houses each with a
capacity of 8.470 grandparents.

departement and Gerrit Rietveld project engineer.
The houses will be equipped with the latest VDL Agrotech technologies
including: Chainovation chain feeding system for females, Matrix feeding
system for males, electronic feedweighing with controlled filling of all
individual hoppers, silos, flex augers, heating, cooling &
ventilation systems. The house will be fully computerized controlled with
automatic bird weighing and breeder management tools. All computers will
be connected to a farm network to allow central monitoring and control of
all houses from the central office. Beside the climate management, all
other management information such as feed intake, bird performance will
be available from the central computer.

On Wednesday, 12th
March. VDL Agrotech hosted a network meeting for the members of the Dutch
Poultry Centre (DPC). More than 100 visitors all related to the poultry
industry attended this event.

During the meeting, a presentation was given by VDL Agrotech,
highlighting the company's activities and novelties. In addition a
corporate VDL Groep presentation was given to show the wide spread
activities of all the 82 companies of the VDL Groep. Jan Wolleswinkel,
chairman of the DPC gave a presentation about the DPC activities 2013 /
2014 and the upcoming event: BIG Challenge 2014. Ruwan Berculo,
international market manager VNU and board member of DPC explained once
more the activities surrounding the VIV Europe 2014 show and the planning
during the exhibition.

door day

Sunday, 9 March.
The Family Schraudolf held an open door day. In the Southern part of
Germany they recently built a brand-new broilerbreeder farm. This farm
owned by Family Schraudolf will start production of hatching eggs for the
Swiss integration Bell Schweiz AG. For Bell this is the first project
realized in Germany.

With a total production surface of 3.500m2, 17.500 female hens and
additional males are kept. Hatching eggs will be transported weekly to
the hatchery in Switzerland.

This breederfarm meets the latest requirements regarding animal welfare
regulations. Modern equipment helps the farmer to produce high quality
hatching eggs. The equipment is supplied and installed by our
South-German distributor Vencotec GmbH.

Evan vet Farms in Iraq

|
|
|
|
Evan Vet is a
project consisting of 10 breeder houses which will be fully equipped by
VDL Agrotech. All the equipment on the farm is fully automatic, which
makes this farm the most modern breeder facility in Northern Iraq. The
hatching eggs are automatically collected and then transported by a cross
conveyor system to a separate grading and packing station.

The brand new prefabricated C-Lines buildings equipped with the VDL
Agrotech equipment makes the project a state of the art breeder farm with
a total capacity of 71.000 female breeders and 7.100 males.
Installation in
progress.
The installation is in progress, and will be finished within 2 months
time.
